A “WILD” Dessert Tablescape - Written By: The Scrap Shoppe

 A “Wild” Dessert Tabelscape

Since our family includes two little boys, we are “wild” about anything that has to do with animals.
Especially the animals of Africa! I cannot tell you how many stuffed hippos, lions, giraffes, and zebras we own.
When I was offered an opportunity to explore World Market’s new Kingdom Animalia Collection
which features an African theme, I couldn’t have been more excited!

As soon as I walked into World Market I was blown away by the furniture display for the Kingdom Animalia Collection. I wanted to head right over and put my feet up!

The collection also includes some amazing items for the home including this map wall art, the cutest little stuffed elephant (which I may have had to have), and this incredible rustic shelving unit.

But what most captured my attention was the Moroccan-inspired food and tableware!
The dishes, serving platters, and exotic foods looked amazing.
I gathered some items from the collection to create a fun tablescape for a “wild” dessert night in with my boys!
I went a little outside the box by using the Kingdom Animalia fabric shower curtain as my tablecloth.
I absolutely love the feel it gives my table!

I used a couple of the giraffe patterned fabric napkins to create a fun centerpiece
and to show off our Morrocan-inspired sweets.
Remember the little fabric elephant from earlier? Yep, I brought him home with me!

The Moroccan cookbook provided some of the inspiration for our sweet treats.
I can’t wait to try some of the other recipes inside!
It spans from appetizers all the way to desserts.

For our table settings, I simply tied some twine around black buffet napkins
and set them on some of my own plates.
Now we’re ready to enjoy our safari-inspired dessert in high style!

A Daring Date Night for Two - Written By: Live Laugh Rowe

A Daring Date Night for Two

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life, we forget to take some time to DATE our spouse. Wouldn’t you agree? Life often gets so busy and we tend to get a little too comfortable with our day to day routines.  Soooo, I decided to do a little outside the box thinking what about a THEMED date night?  A Daring (adventurous) Date Night for Two!  What do you think of the idea?

I {loveWorld Market. I could buy one of everything in that store. Seriously!  Friendly staff and fabulous products means I’ll be baaaaack {smile}.  Upon a recent visit to the store, I saw their newKingdom Animalia Collection.  My wheels started turning as I looked through all of these fun andvivacious pieces from this collection.  I could plan an out of the ordinary, a little on the wilder side themed date night.   So, let’s do a little shopping!

I enjoy entertaining, although I don’t seem to do it as often as I’d like to, so when I get to set the table a little more purposefully, I get super excited!!  Here are a few of the pieces that caught my eye.  I fell in {love} with the orange glazed dinner plates and the orange baker was to die for!  The bamboo spoon slid through the lid for easy storage and serving.  Brilliant!  Anywho, I thought pairing these orange pieces with a couple of what I would call Moroccan inspired candle holders — I could pull in some extra color with the napkins.  That would cover dinner — and then there were these serengeti dot mugs that would I thought would pull everything together.  These mugs would complete the night with a cup of coffee and some mouthwatering dessert.  I think these pieces are gorgeous.  Don’t you?
.

Okay, so the plan is that I’ll set the table for two and follow my rule of simplicity.  I don’t like a lot of clutter around us when we’re eating. I {love} adding an eclectic touch, a bit of color, and having clean lines.  A table for two can say so much — intimate, romantic, time alone, reconnecting, etc.
.

And as suggested earlier, we’ll end the night with these fabulously designed mugs filled with coffee that will accompany a yummy dessert!  Oooo, I’m getting super excited!  I’m thinking a soufflé of some sort…chocolate maybe?

So, what do you think?  Are your feeling inspired to plan a date night with your significant other? If you’re thinking outside the box, keep World Market in mind.  If you’ve never been, boy are you missing out!  Seriously, like, go right now {giggle}.

Fall Accessories Trend - Written By: Lolly Jane

fall accessories trend

I was looking up fall accessories trend and noticed how hot animal prints are going to be this winter.  I also noticed that more and more women are wearing their necklaces like a mustache.

Just kidding.  I’m not typically a big animal print wearer, however I do love brightly colored accessories.  Like, turquoise is more than just a color to me, I’m slightly obsessed and need an intervention.  So when I was shopping World Market last weekend, I was drawn to their new line, Kingdom Animalia Collection, which has pretty blue hues.  You like it?  I love it!  The mustard yellow cord was a huge bonus for me as well, since that’s my other color crush right now.   And the necklace slips over your heads, no fasteners required, bonus.

Let’s talk earrings.  I may or may not have at least over 3 dozen pair of earrings in my stash, after recently donating a good amount!  But really, how could I pass these up?

I love the faux feather earrings that are super trendy right now, but I don’t think I could pull them off.  They’re so flowy and I’d probably forget I had them off and rip them.  I tend to mess with my earrings a lot, twirling them around when I’m bored.  Weird habit, right?  So anyway, I love these because they’re lightweight but not going to blow away lightweight (;  I also love these goodies from WM, I didn’t get pics but I also brought home these beauties.

Aren’t the skull earrings cool??  Not something I would naturally gravitate toward but they were so unique, I had to bring them home to my collection!  And that watch, already have gotten so many compliments on it.  Have you noticed how bronze is the new silver??  I love the watch because it matches my cute gold flip flops!

Oh boy.  Don’t get me started on how stinkin cute the globes are!  I’m pretty sure all three will eventually find their way into my house.  I went back a couple days after my first trip and 2 were already gone.  Drat!-they’re so cute.  I think I may incorporate them into my upcoming playroom makeover?  Love them!

Overall, great shopping trip at World Market, as usual.  I love that store because the sales people don’t hound you, there is a huge variety of goods to get lost in and they have such unique finds.  Almost like a really clean thrift store with a little higher prices, love it.  Be sure to check out their twitteryou tube and facebook pages to keep up with their latest!  For instance, they’re having a huge sweepstakes right now…how does an African Safari trip for 2sound?!

Safari Inspired Girls Night In with World Market - Written by: Simply Frugal Mom

When I think about having Girls Night In, I think about good drinks, yummy food and kicking back to relax and laugh. And of course, every Girls Night In needs a little flare. There is nothing like a little decor to set the mood and turn an average night into an event.

One of my favorite places to shop for decor is World Market. They have a great selection of items to jazz up a party, decorate your house, or accessorize yourself. They also have an amazing food and beverage section with treats from all over the world.

I headed to World Market to check out their new Kingdom Animalia Collection. This collection is inspired by an African safari and has some really amazing items.

I love the neutral colors of this collection with the pops of animal print and rich colors.

I want this entire display of globes for my living room.

How fantastic is this steamer trunk/bar? So many fun options for ways you could use this.

I had such a great time shopping at World Market. One of my favorite things about World Market is their selection of “basic” pieces. They have so many great glasses, serving dishes, and neutral accessories that you can easily mix and match with their featured collections.

I spent forever in the store just trying to narrow down my choices. I wanted it all! After over an hour, I finally had the perfect items to create a gorgeous table for my Girls Night In.

I just love how this turned out. It’s exotic, refreshing and fun all at the same time.

I love this bobble head giraffe. And he was as steal at $12.99. And I like how he looks like he is ready to dive into the cucumbers. And check out that cute bowl. Each one was a little different and I chose one with a lighter pattern to contrast the table runner.

I used two napkins to create the table runner. And at $6.50 for two, they were about 1/3 of the cost of a full table runner. Score.

Of course I had to check out the clearance sections around the store and I found the palms leaves for Buy One, Get One Free.

The orange lantern and the white dip bowl are two of those “basic” items I was talking about before. They were just $2.99 a piece and I’ll use them over and over again.

Glasses were just $1.99. And the impressions in the glass add great character.

And I couldn’t resist these great elephant coasters. They add the perfect pops of color and texture to my table.

My best friend’s mom calls gin & tonic a “lovely ladies summer drink” and I couldn’t agree more. It is the perfect refreshing drink for a warm summer night. I picked up a couple bottles of interesting tonic water and some sparkling meyer lemon soda for the non-gin drinkers.

Because gin & tonic is such a light drink, I wanted to keep my snacks light as well. I picked up some Ras El Hanout spice mix at World Market and made this amazing carrot dip (recipe coming tomorrow) with it. Seriously, this dip is to die for and it doesn’t hurt that the color goes perfect with my theme. I served it with sliced cucumbers and crackers.

World Market had everything I needed to create a “wild” Girls Night In. From decorations to drinks to food, I found it all. If you are headed to World Market this week, be sure to check out your Sunday paper for the World Market ad which contains a $10 off $30 purchase coupon.
